Romance Books on Kindle
April 5, 2015 — Last month I was still hoping that the recovery of Romance novel prices was sustainable. Unfortunately, this month’s analysis feels like a cold shower.
Price Development
Prices of Romance books fell back to an all time low per the end of March 2015 on Amazon Kindle. The average price of the Top 100 best sellers is now at $2.99. And this is just for the best sellers; not to mention the many $0.99 titles at the tail end of the market.
Romance E-book Market News
The good news is that Romance is still amongst the highest selling categories on Amazon Kindle, but price levels have come under pressure. Romance readers devour the titles by the dozen but are not prepared to pay a lot. At the same time, the supply of Romance novels grows by more than 2.5% per month and now stands at around 225,000 English titles on Amazon Kindle.
